Over 40% Of Small Business Owners Have No Idea How to Market Their Small Business

We recently came across some worrying research that was conducted by One Poll on behalf of Adzooma. The research found that in a study of 500 small and medium sized business owners, 42% had no idea how to create an online profile. This could have a hugely positive effect on the promotion of their business but was something they didn’t know how to do.

The research went on to show that a huge 39% of business owners involved in the study didn’t have a website for their business. Further to this, one in ten business owners with a website used the help of a friend to set it up. Meanwhile, one in twenty business owners admitted to relying on a family member to set up their company website for them.

Interestingly, the study also found that six in ten business owners has never considered using social media to advertise their business. Further to this, the study also found that three in ten business owners will seek advice from others when they are unsure how to proceed with a business matter. The first port of call for this business advice is friends and family.

The problem with this is that we are currently experiencing a digital transformation like never before. More and more consumers are using the internet for their purchases. Digital marketing and online advertising are more important than ever before.
